Intuition: Your Hidden Genius

Intuition serves as our hidden genius, and will always provide needed wisdom to advance forward in the right direction. Intuition is a birthright, along with our other human senses. We are all equipped with intuition which informs what’s going on around us on an ever- deeper level. Our intuition is more definitive than our other five senses.

If we want to rely on intuition as easily as we do sight and smell, we need to further developing its powers. Developing intuition to be reliable and accurate requires practice. Well-developed intuition not only keeps us safe, but is vital to better deal with people and make better decisions. When you come to trust your intuition, you feel more confident. You recognize your own highest guidance directs you on your soul’s path.

5 Easy Steps to Help Develop Intuition

  1. Recognize Your Intuition Style

It’s important to appreciate that everyone does not experience intuition the same. Whether you’re aware of it or not, we individually develop our intuitive channels. I used to expect a booming voice to communicate with me, so when that didn’t happen I doubted that I had intuitive abilities. When I immersed myself in studying intuition, I quickly discovered I have untapped wisdom. I just wasn’t aware of how my intuition was regularly communicating with me.

I learned I am highly clairsentient, which means I can clearly feel energy, whether that energy is within my body, coming from others or my surroundings. It’s what some people call “body radar.”

My nervous system constantly picks up subtle energy signals and sends me messages. Clairsentients are also called empaths. Empaths have a highly developed sense of empathy and an ability to feel what others experience physically, mentally or emotionally.

It makes sense I felt frustration when I expected to hear my intuition. Since clairaudience was my least developed skill, it was like waiting by the phone for guidance to call instead of tuning into what I was feeling to receive answers. A fascinating conclusion to my years of research sheds insight into how you can nurture and develop all of the intuitive abilities, even the less developed ones.

The most common ways to experience intuition are through:

Clairvoyance – clear seeing

Clairaudience – clear hearing

Clairsentience – clear feeling

Telepathy – mental communication

Knowing – abstract sensing

Precognition – future perception

Psychometry – contact perception

2. Practice the Art of Grounding

To further develop intuitive abilities, self-awareness requires cultivation. Self-awareness builds the necessary trust and confidence to listen and follow inner guidance. To facilitate this, create a grounding meditation practice.

Many people have heard the term “grounding,” yet don’t understand the scientific and spiritual benefits of affirming our body’s connection with the earth. I love teaching the positive mind, body, and spiritual effects of grounding to fully bring about body presence. It connects us to earth so we can further connect to spirit (or intuition).

Simply being in nature or walking barefoot helps many of us feel grounded. Visualization, sensation and sound also induce grounding. Practicing daily grounding helps clear the mind from distractions and teaches how to better recognize the subtle intuitive impulses from within.

Any form of meditation can facilitate better insights and expand perspectives that are outside a regular waking state. Meditation brings stillness to mind and body. Being fully present in “the now” accelerates intuitive awareness, peace and calm. Set aside daily time to meditate on your own, or use a guided meditation such as those offered in my mini course. Even 10-15 minutes a day brings powerful results, and makes it much easier to decipher intuitive messages.

3. Reflect

Often, the intuitive process works without much thought, effort or attention. This is wonderful. However, it can make it more difficult to make sense of intuitive signals when they come through.

Intuitive thoughts have a subtle nature so they can be easy to miss. Writing down your reflections is a very effective way to access your intuition and capture its wisdom. Make a regular practice of journaling five or ten minutes a day. You’ll be amazed at the clarity of what comes through!

4. Raise Your Vibration

When your vibration is high, you feel in alignment with the world. It’s much easier to tune into what intuition is telling you. Living in high vibration permits every inspiring idea and solution to come through. Spend time doing what brings you joy – listen to music, dance, sing, and play! Listening to healing sound frequencies powerfully raises your vibration, balances your energy, and brings mind, body and spirit into perfect harmony. Find options on YouTube or the Insight Timer app. I personally use Solfeggio frequencies and binaural beats every day.

5. Discern and Trust

Because we have many inner voices (some conflicting!) that continuously jabber to us, many people don’t know how to distinguish between their intuition and all the other thoughts and feelings going on simultaneously inside their head. I refer to these as “sub-voices”. In my mini course, I teach you to identify the voices which can drown out your subtle intuitive voice. You will learn to recognize the unique qualities and energies of these voices, so you can better differentiate them from your intuition.

The more you trust your intuition, the greater the results will be. If you want to make better decisions, obtain solutions, or be in alignment with your life’s purpose, create a daily practice using these steps. Developing a strong connection with intuition can be challenging, especially if you’ve spent a lifetime doubting yourself. Trusting intuition is all about trusting yourself – the more trust you have in yourself, the more confident you’ll feel.
